About Francis Parker School

Francis Parker School (Parker) is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California with 1,330 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Founded in 1912, the school’s mission is “to create and inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, integral perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world.” Parker has two campuses: one in Mission Hills (Lower School, Junior Kindergarten - Grade 5), and a second in Linda Vista (Middle and Upper School, Grades 6 - 12).

Job Description

Responsible for the coordination or for assisting with the coordination of Parker sports program. This includes teaching, coaching, instructing student-athletes and performing other duties necessary to the development of players and teams, which demonstrates the skills and values of Parker’s Mission and the athletic department philosophy.

We believe that student-athletes benefit not only physically and emotionally by participating and competing in sports, we believe that one of our fundamental responsibilities is to help student-athletes develop critical skills (e.g., teamwork, resilience, leadership, tenacity, etc.) that promote success in the classroom, in college and in life.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of sport including knowledge of all CIF and NFHS rules and regulations; skills, tactics and techniques.
- Organizes and supervises well-planned, safe and efficient practices and games by utilizing coaching staff effectively. Prepares team for competition.
- Conducts self in an ethical and professional manner and presents self as a positive role model for the student-athletes. Respects, motivates and inspires the team. Displays encouraging conduct and has a positive attitude with student-athletes,
