What Is Your Role?

As a SCADA Engineer within Corning's Optical Communications manufacturing team, you will design, deploy, and maintain the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems that serve as the backbone of our automated and manual production processes. You will bridge plant-floor equipment with enterprise information and data systems, ensuring our global manufacturing sites operate with precision, reliability, and intelligence.

This is a high impact, cross functional role with a integral footprint. You will collaborate with process engineers, automation vendors, and teams across Corning's worldwide operations to continuously evolve our manufacturing data ecosystem.





What Do You Need to Have?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent field of study.
- +2 years of SCADA development experience using platforms such as Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFix, or equivalent industrial SCADA tools.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MQTT and experience integrating manufacturing equipment with MES or plant information systems.
- Hands on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and real-time control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar).
- Working knowledge of structured programming languages, Python, Java, and/or SQL applied to industrial automation or manufacturing data environments.
- Bilingual English proficiency (written and verbal) essential for cross-functional collaboration with global teams across the US, Europe, and Asia-Paci
