Position Summary
Peterson Spring is seeking a driven, results-oriented Business Development Representative to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across a variety of industries.
This is a true hunter role. The primary responsibility is developing new business and opening new accounts—not managing existing customers.
The idóneo candidate enjoys prospecting, opening doors, building relationships with new decision-makers, and turning opportunities into revenue. This individual must be comfortable initiating conversations, handling rejection, and consistently pursuing new business through outbound activity, trade shows, networking, referrals, and market research.
This is a remote position with travel required for customer visits, trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, market research, and social selling.
- Build a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects and new customer opportunities.




- Establish relationships with engineers, purchasing professionals, sourcing teams, and other key decision-makers.
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospective customers' needs, applications, challenges, and purchasing requirements.
- Generate qualified RFQs for Peterson Spring's manufacturing capabilities.
- Represent Peterson Spring at trade shows, conferences, networking events, and customer meetings.
- Follow up quickly and consistently with trade show leads and other new prospects.
- Develop and execute prospecting strategies for targeted markets, industries, and territories.
- Maintain accurate prospect, activity, and opportunity information within the company CRM.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, estimating, and customer success teams to move opportunities through the sales process.
