IT Analyst – Engineering SimulationRole PurposeThe IT Analyst – Engineering Simulation supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of engineering simulation applications and related IT services.
The role ensures that simulation tools are available, secure, compliant, and aligned with business and engineering needs.
In addition, improve tools efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance engineering IT processes.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations and Application ManagementSupport the operation and lifecycle management of engineering simulation / CAE applications such as Ansys, Abaqus, HyperWorks or FloEFD.Coordinate software releases, updates, patching, and maintenance activitiesProvide 2nd and 3rd level support for technical issues and incidentsMonitor application performance, usage, and availabilitySupport license compliance and usage monitoringContribute to documentation, training materials, and knowledge transferStakeholder CollaborationWork closely with engineering teams, IT colleagues, product owners, and vendorsSupport the implementation of approved enhancements and business requirementsCommunicate application changes, updates, and relevant operational topics to users and stakeholdersSupport global users and collaborate across regions and functionsSecurity, Compliance, and Change ManagementSupport security, compliance, and change management processesEnsure that application-related activities follow internal standards and governance requirementsAssist with access control, release coordination, and documentation of changesSupport audit-related activities where requiredContinuous Improvement and AutomationIdentify opportunities for automation,
standardization, and process improvementSupport the optimization of workflows and operational processesUse scripting and automation tools such as Python or PowerShell where applicableBudget, Cost Management, and ChargingSupport monitoring and management of application-related costsAssist with budget planning and forecasting for licensing, maintenance, training, enhancements, and external servicesContribute to cost transparency and support decision-making for application-related investmentsMonitor usage trends to help optimize cost efficiency and resource allocationSupport thecreation of cost charging modelsand thecalculation and allocation of chargesto users or business units.Required SkillsExperience with mechanical simulation or engineering simulation / CAE applications (ANSYS, ABAQUS, COMSOL, Siemens FloEFD, Altair Hyperworks)Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and application operationsScripting or automation skills, e.G. Python, PowerShellStrong analytical and problem‐solving skillsGood communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work in general and cross‐functional teamsInterest in and openness to working with AI‐supported tools and digital solutionsProven high level of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate in EnglishPreferred QualificationsExperience in CAE application support or engineering ITKnowledge of license management, release management, or ITIL processesFamiliarity with HPC, virtualization, or hybrid environmentsExperience with AI‐enabled automation, data analysis, or workflow optimizationExperience in documentation, training coordination, or process standardization#J-*****-Ljbffr
