OVERVIEW
The Compliance Officer will be responsible to coordinate the tasks of USCRI Latin America in its participation in MIRPS and other strategic multilateral networks in Latin America, so as to ensure the strong engagement of USCRI in the region and make known the presence of USCRI and its services. The Compliance Officer reports to the Regional Director, USCRI Latin America.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the plan of action during its participation in MIRPS and other multilateral networks;
- Organize routine meetings with members of these networks;
- Follow up on agreements that are derived from these meetings;
- Prepare the monthly work agenda and relevant documents for the meetings;
- In coordination with other members of these mechanisms, organize activities in order to raise awareness and create linkages with other actors to the tasks of the mechanism;
- Organize digital folders, reports, documents and other deliverables from these networks;
- Draft group activity reports from those present at the assembly meetings;
- Be the person of contact for participating organization in these networks;
- Organize elections for the transfer of the pro-tempore elections of MIRPS; and
- Any other tasks that may be necessary for fulfilling the job requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; Master’s degree in business, social services administration, non-profit management, related field, or equivalent experience preferred;
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience with NGO in the fields of migration, human rights or the 2030 Agenda;
- Experience in community work and/or vulnerable populations;
- Experience in development,
coordination, follow-up and evaluation of complex projects through intergovernmental agencies and/or international organizations;
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian response, for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and/or other vulnerable populations;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to government funders, donors, clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and experience, multicultural staff, community partners, and volunteers;
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, financial systems, and database programs; and
- Commitment to USCRI’s values including demonstration of respect for others and appreciation of a multicultural workplace;
- Must pass a criminal background check and other screening requirements;
- Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace;
- Spoken and written Spanish and English is required.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
- Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
