OVERVIEW
The Higher Education Liaison and Selection Officer will be part of USCRI’s Higher Education for Complementary Education Pathways Program, conducted in its Aguascalientes field office and implemented across Mexico. The Higher Education Liaison and Selection Officer is responsible to administer the intake process, interviews, and selection panels for the Higher Education Program in Mexico. They will be responsible to present the program to civil society organizations in Mexico, as well as relevant UN and Mexican government agencies, in order to establish joint strategies to facilitate the program services being administered to the target population. This position will report to the Higher Education Program Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct information sessions with other civil society organizations;
- Coordinate with the person of contact for UNHCR regarding referrals by the agency to be integrated into the higher education program;
- Propose, define and participate in interview selection panels of the higher education program;
- Revise and update the procedural manuals of the education program.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; Master’s degree in business, social services administration, non-profit management, related field, or equivalent experience preferred;
- Minimum of two (2) years of work or collaboration with student or civil society organizations, universities, international or government organizations regarding migration, human rights or vulnerable populations;




- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian response, for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and/or other vulnerable populations;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to government funders, donors, clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and experience, multicultural staff, community partners, and volunteers;
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, financial systems, and database programs; and
- Commitment to USCRI’s values including demonstration of respect for others and appreciation of a multicultural workplace;
- Must pass a criminal background check and other screening requirements; and
- Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
- Spoken and written Spanish and English is required.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training; and
- Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
