Manager, Software Engineering – iOS
Position Overview
Insulet Corporation, a medical device company that develops tubeless insulin pumps, seeks a highly motivated Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of next‑generation medical mobile applications and SDKs. The role is fast‑paced, highly visible, and has a direct impact on the lives of people living with diabetes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Scrum teams of iOS developers, including those local and remote.
- Engage in early stages of development to create, refine, and review requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, UX designers, and other stakeholders to translate high‑level requirements into low‑level design and components.
- Set and enforce best practices for software development: unit testing, code reviews, architecture consistency, and adherence to Insulet’s design‑assurance SOPs.
- Coach and motivate team members, support career development, and provide hands‑on coding and code reviews when required.
- Evaluate current and new technologies,



build prototypes, and recommend solutions aligned with industry standards.
- Provide strategic input to leadership, manage risk, and ensure deliverables are on time and of high quality.
- Respond to production escalations and coordinate resolution with internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of leading software development teams in mobile applications.
- 2+ years of managing direct reports.

Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Experience developing iOS applications in Swift and SwiftUI, including declarative frameworks.
- Knowledge of reactive functional frameworks (RxSwift or Combine) and Redux‑style architectures such as Composable Architecture.
- Experience developing Android applications in Java or Kotlin is a plus.
