**Position Summary**
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Classroom Guidance & Instruction**:
- Prepare and maintain a Montessori environment that emphasizes **Practical Life skills** such as care of self, care of the environment, grace and courtesy, and fine/gross motor coordination.
- Present Montessori materials and lessons in English, adapting to children’s individual developmental needs.
- Encourage independence, problem-solving, and intrinsic motivation through hands-on experiences.
- **Classroom Management & Environment**:
- Maintain an orderly, calm, and child-centered classroom environment.
- Ensure materials are accessible, developmentally appropriate, and rotated regularly to spark curiosity.
- Observe students closely to track progress, document learning, and adjust activities accordingly.
- **Family & Community Engagement**:
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student growth, offering guidance on how Practical Life activities can be reinforced at home.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment across classrooms and contribute to the overall school culture.
- **Professional Responsibilities**:
- Model respect, patience, and empathy in all interactions.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Uphold Montessori philosophy while meeting school policies and regulatory standards.
**Qualifications**
- Montessori certification (AMI/AMS or equivalent) in Early Childhood or relevant age group required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
- **Fluency in English** (spoken and written).
- Experience teaching in a Montessori setting strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Montessori **Practical Life curriculum** and its role in supporting independence, concentration, and responsibility.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and reflective practice.
