**Job Profile**
The Communications Officer will provide communication support to the project, ensuring stakeholder engagement, public awareness, and showcasing the impact of the different interventions on the project.
**Competences**
- Knowledge of desktop publishing tools (e.g. InDesign/Photoshop).
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems and social media platforms
- Proficient with local languages (SiSwati and English).
- Attention to detail, accountability and accuracy.
- Reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and deliverables.
**Key Performance Outputs**
- Develop and implement the communication strategy
- Serve as the media contact person for the EWSSAP.
- Facilitate the creation and management of a website and social media content aligned to the project’s communication strategy.
- Prepare and distribute periodic media coverage reports, i.e., monthly, quarterly and annually,
quarterly newsletters. Distribute to relevant stakeholders.
- Update communication platforms and engage with stakeholders on the platforms. E.g. Website, Social Medial Platforms.
- Serve as secretariat of communication officers in the Ministries and Agencies implementing the project (i.e. EWSC, MoH, MNRE, NDMA).
- Coordinate media coverage at EWSSAP events
**Education**
A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related field, with experience as Communications officer or equivalent experience in a similar role is strongly preferred.
**Experience**
- A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in working with a media or in a communications role in relevant private, public sectors, or NGOs.
- Proven experience in developing a communications strategy for organizations or projects; development Bank funded projects would be an added advantage.
