Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting product transfer, pilot runs, ramp-up, and serial production activities. This role ensures process compliance, customer requirements fulfillment, and effective implementation of automotive core tools in alignment with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or metal-mechanical processes
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Experience supporting production ramp-up and safe launch activities
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience in stamping, welding, or assembly operations
- Experience in manufacturing transfers or plant start-ups
- Familiarity with customer portals and OEM requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Support APQP activities during product transfer and new line launches
- Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in coordination with cross-functional teams
- Develop and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Work Instructions
- Perform capability studies, MSA, and SPC monitoring
- Support GP12 / Safe Launch implementation during ramp-up phases
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities (8D, 5 Why)
- Monitor quality KPIs (PPM, scrap, rework) and drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Support internal audits, LPAs, and certification readiness efforts
- Ensure objective evidence and documentation comply with QMS requirements
