Climate Data Specialist (AI Training) About The Role What if your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, or environmental science could directly shape how AI understands one of the most critical fields on the planet? We're looking for Environmental Science specialists — Masters and PhD level — to develop and evaluate advanced scientific problems that train the next generation of AI models. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role.
You'll work asynchronously alongside AI researchers and domain experts, applying the depth of your academic training to problems that genuinely matter.

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design and develop advanced, real-world environmental science problems spanning climate modeling, ecology, and sustainability
Solve and critically review complex problem sets to ensure scientific accuracy, depth, and rigor
Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance AI reasoning in environmental science
Apply your expertise in Python or R to support data-driven problem development
Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of clarity, scientific integrity, and practical relevance Who You Are Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a closely related field
Deep expertise in one or more of: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or environmental data analysis
Proficient in Python or R for research or applied projects
Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science clearly and precisely
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in an async environment
Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
Background in research publication, peer review, or scientific writing
Familiarity with environmental datasets, remote sensing, or geospatial analysis
