About Carbon Real Estate Investments
Carbon Real Estate Investments (Carbon REI) is a private equity real estate firm focused on multifamily assets across the Southeast United States. We currently own and operate over 2,500 units across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, and Texas, with a rapidly growing portfolio.
We combine institutional discipline with an owner-operator’s ground-level view of every asset we hold. That perspective shapes how we invest, how we communicate with our investor base, and how we show up in the broader commercial real estate conversation.
About the Role
We are scaling an executive content platform anchored by our Chief Investment Officer, Michael Pouliot, CFA, CAIA, host of the Deal Flow Podcast—a show exploring capital, deals, and AI in commercial real estate. Together with our newsletter and executive LinkedIn presence, this platform is the primary engine reaching operators, allocators, and institutional investors nationwide.
You will build and run the production side of this engine end-to-end. Rather than starting from scratch, you will join an established marketing organization to provide the horsepower needed to execute at a high, consistent cadence.
What Makes This Role
Different:This is not a basic video-chopping job. We draw on a growing library of podcast episodes, market data, and portfolio updates. The strongest candidates won't just clip the most recent recording; they will actively mine past content to build themed compilations, synthesize cross-episode insights into single newsletter issues, and build a compounding content asset. Synthesis across multiple sources is a core competency evaluated directly in our hiring process.
Core Responsibilities:1.
Deal Flow Podcast
Production
Editing & Publishing: Edit raw recordings into publish-ready audio and video episodes, scaling from 3 to 5 episodes per week while maintaining a rolling backlog.
Distribution Assets: Produce show notes, SEO-optimized titles, descriptions, timestamps, and guest promotional kits (share graphics,
quote cards, pre-formatted social posts).
Short-Form Content: Cut a minimum of 3 high-performing short-form video clips per episode for LinkedIn and other social platforms.
Distribution Management: Publish seamlessly across Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and emerging channels.
- Newsletter & Written Content
End-to-End Ownership: Research, write, produce, and publish the Carbon REI newsletter.
Content Synthesis: Repurpose podcast discussions, market data, and portfolio insights into original, high-value written issues.
Performance Optimization: Track and iterate on open rates, click-through rates, subject lines, and send times using real engagement data.
3.
Executive
LinkedIn & Thought Leadership
Ghostwriting: Draft a minimum of 3 posts per week for CIO Michael Pouliot’s personal account, writing in a direct, market-aware, operator-to-operator voice. Draft occasional posts for other company principals as needed.
Content Amplification & Community: Distribute podcast clips and newsletter highlights across LinkedIn and support light community engagement on principal accounts.
4.
Content Library
Architecture
Taxonomy & Tagging: Maintain organized asset libraries (Google Drive, Metricool, podcast hosts), tagging every asset by guest firm, asset class, topic, and air date so the entire team can easily mine past material.
Candidate Profile & QualificationsMUST-HAVES (Required Qualifications)
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on content production experience in B2B environments (Real Estate, Financial Services, SaaS, or Professional Services preferred).
Language Proficiency: Native or near-native professional English fluency—capable of writing publish-ready, nuanced B2B copy without needing structural or grammatical edits.
Synthesis Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to pull a single, coherent narrative out of multiple distinct source materials (e.g.,
combining insights from 3 different podcast episodes into one cohesive article).
Production Skills
Video/Audio Editing: Proficiency in Descript, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent tools.
Design & Graphics: Hands-on experience creating clean social assets using Canva, Claude Design, Photoshop, Figma, or similar design software.
Writing Skills: Strong B2B copywriting capabilities, with a portfolio showcasing executive ghostwriting, long-form newsletters, or short-form social posts.
Schedule & Availability: Ability to work full-time remote hours strictly aligned with 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM US Central Time.
NICE-TO-HAVES (Preferred Qualifications)
Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE), private equity, or institutional investing.
Experience producing high-frequency podcasts (3+ episodes per week).
Prior executive ghostwriting experience for founders or C-suite leaders.
Familiarity with HubSpot (as a CRM/content tool) and Metricool.
Active proficiency using AI workflow tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity) to speed up research, drafting, and asset management.
Foundational knowledge of SEO for podcasts, YouTube, and digital publishing.
How We Write (Our Editorial Philosophy)
If these principles match your writing style, you will thrive here:
We write like operators, not vendors: Direct, market-aware, and specific. Zero fluff or generic marketing speak.
We plant credibility; we don't sell: Content shows how we think and what we see. Pitching belongs in sales calls.
We respect the reader’s time: Short, useful, and specific always beats long and vague.
Multifamily is our proof, not our limit: Our audience spans commercial real estate broadly—our content must appeal to office or industrial asset managers just as much as multifamily owners.
No reassurance language: We avoid phrases like "not a pitch" or "won't take much of your time." Peers don't reassure peers—they just talk shop.
Tech Stack & Logistics
Tools Used: Slack, Google Workspace, Asana, HubSpot, Metricool, Webflow, Descript, Canva, YouTube Studio.
Team Structure: You will work closely with Marketing Director Andres Cueto (based in Guadalajara, Mexico) and CIO Michael Pouliot.
