We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team and support the development of the logic and programming that controls our chemical manufacturing process. This role will also be responsible for building out a control scheme that is scalable and repeatable at multiple remote facilities throughout the United States. Responsibilities
Develop logic and control schemes to oversee chemical manufacturing processes.
Develop PLC and HMI code in Siemens and other various platforms.
Develop system architecture to be quickly deployed to remote locations in high volumes.
Provide day to day support to troubleshoot existing PLC and/or DCS control systems, including 24/7 coverage as needed during plant turnarounds and new project startups.
Experience in continuous process manufacturing in all the following project phases: Requirement’s documentation, detailed design generation (base on ISA standards and using object-oriented design approach), implementation, system integration, testing and on-site startup, using PSM (Process Safety Management) elements and Industrial standards.
Provide training to the maintenance department on changes or new installations, new programming and software related to PLC and HMI equipment
Manage relationships with PLC supplier (Siemens)
and 3rd Party Integrators as necessary.
Develop compliance standards to ensure standardization across multiple facilities.
Develop maintenance procedures for control systems.
Make recommendations for additional equipment as necessary.
Participate in the review of Management of Changes, PHA Action Requests, Construction Information Requests, and Change Order Requests.
Assist with local, state, and federal permitting applications.
Requirements
Education
BS in related engineering discipline or
Extensive experience & certifications in lieu of engineering degree
Experience
5+ years previous experience developing PLC and HMI code in chemical manufacturing settings.
Experience with Siemens PLC hardware and programming.
Experience with applicable NEC, European, Other Countries code UOP standards for electrical equipment.
Experience with Profibus/Profinet systems
