Purchasing Projects Specialist (M/PPS)

As a Purchasing Projects Specialist within the Powertrain Solutions division in Transmission Control, you will manage purchasing activities for assigned projects from development to SOP, as well as series production continuos improvement.

You will act as the main interface between Business Units, Material Field Purchasing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, ensuring project targets for cost, quality, timing, budget, and capacity are achieved.

Project Management: Manage purchasing projects from development to SOP, as well as series production activities by defining clear timelines, responsibilities, milestones, and action plans while ensuring APQP/PPAP requirements are met.

Cost Management: Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities (RPP) through cost analysis, benchmarking and technical or commercial measures.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate purchasing activities with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.

Supplier Management: Coordinate supplier activities, technical discussions, capacity requirements, quality deliverables, and readiness for project milestones and SOP.

Ownership, Autonomy & Problem Solving: Work independently with a high level of ownership. Proactively identify issues, develop alternative scenarios and solution proposals, assess their impact on cost, timing, quality, and supply, and drive the selected actions to closure.

Change Management: Coordinate the purchasing activities related to engineering changes (ECRs),



including supplier implementation, cost impact, timing, and material availability.

Project Reporting: Track and communicate project status, KPIs, open actions, costs, and risks to management and relevant stakeholders.

Project Ownership: Take ownership of assigned projects, follow up on commitments, escalate critical issues when necessary, and drive open actions to closure within the agreed timing.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Professional Experience: 3–7 years of experience in Project Purchasing, Project Management, Strategic Purchasing, or Supply Chain

Project Management: Proven experience managing projects through defined timelines, milestones, action plans, risk tracking, and escalation processes. PMP, PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred

Automotive Project & Quality Processes: Working knowledge of APQP and PPAP, including supplier readiness, production trials, Run@Rate, capacity confirmation, and release activities. Familiarity with FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and 8D is an advantage.

Cost Analysis & Negotiation:



Ability to understand supplier cost breakdowns, tooling costs, material and labor content, manufacturing costs, volumes, and commercial assumptions.

Risk & Supply Management: Ability to identify and manage risks related to supplier capacity, material availability, quality, tooling, timing, and production continuity, including definition and follow-up of contingency actions.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Experience working with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and Purchasing, as well as directly with suppliers, to drive decisions and project deliverables.

English: Advanced English (B2–C1 or equivalent), with the ability to lead supplier meetings, negotiations, technical discussions, and project reviews with international teams.

Technical Drawing & GD&T;: Ability to read and understand technical drawings, including basic GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements, to effectively participate in supplier and engineering discussions.

Manufacturing Knowledge: General understanding of common manufacturing processes such as stamping, machining, plastic injection molding, die casting, and assembly processes. }

Microsoft Office: Strong proficiency in Excel for data and cost analysis and PowerPoint for structured project and management reporting.
