The Variable Brakes OPD D&R; Engineer is responsible for delivery and maintenance of actuation brake systems and components (Brake tubes, pedal box, jounce hoses & wheel speed sensors) for current production vehicle lines.ResponsibilitiesEnsure robust ongoing delivery of actuation brake systems and components, including optimizing the design and packaging of components while maintaining overall system performance, cost, weight, quality, and adherence to corporate/regulatory requirementsSupport ongoing production development (OPD) as well as In-Cycle Change Actions (ICAs) for assigned programs by leading design changes and updates as needed to address quality issues/updated requirementsLead warranty issue resolution for assigned components and suppliersPursue cost saving opportunities with assigned suppliers to support section and department cost reduction targetsManage supplier contacts for assigned components via regular open issues discussions and supplier touchpointsServe as a leader and representative of brake engineering to interfacing organizations.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Related degree.High English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)Experience in functional engineering desirable, preferably Chassis or Automotive related work experience (Ford, OEM, supplier)Strong leadership skills – Inherent self-starter, self-motivated with strong drive for resultsProject management skills – Capable of managing projects by looking both at the big picture objectives and at detail administration to achieve these objectives.Excellent math, science,
