This role is within Chamberlain Group's Nogales Productivity & Purchasing group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) place new orders per requisitions and schedule/reschedule open orders to align to production needs; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and (ii) utilize MRP reports to assess demands and ensure delivery requirements are met and that there are no gaps in production needs. Requires 7+ years of experience in purchasing or planning. Advanced experience with commodities relevant to Chamberlain Group's product line and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Responsibilities
- Place new orders per requisitions and schedule/reschedule open orders to align to production needs; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Utilize MRP reports to assess demands and ensure delivery requirements are met and that there are no gaps in production needs
- Maintain production levels by expediting materials delivery; control inventory levels by de-expediting materials delivery and ensure that inventory levels are within specified KPIs
- Work with suppliers to resolve invoicing issues that could cause payment delays or credit holds
- Ensure that the cross-dock provider's on-hold report and warehouse receiving discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner; collaborate with suppliers as needed on resolutions
- Maintain master data and ensure accuracy
- Maintain and keep an accurate open order base report and vendor confirmation acknowledgments for all open orders
- Participate in planning meetings to review production schedule and identify potential issues; report back to the team
- Mentor and train entry- and mid-level positions
- Identify and establish department KPIs and work to achieve target goals
- Participate in and contribute to the VSM as a representative of the Purchasing department; lead projects as needed
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in purchasing or planning
- Advanced experience with commodities relevant to Chamberlain Group's product line
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of SAP
- Advanced knowledge of MRP
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
