Job Description – Senior Power BI DeveloperLocation: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico (Hybrid)Employment Type: Full-TimeExperience Level: Senior (7+ years)About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our growing Data & Analytics team.
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level business intelligence solutions that empower business stakeholders with actionable insights.The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI, data modeling, ETL processes, SQL development, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
This individual will collaborate closely with business users, architects, data engineers, and leadership to transform complex data into meaningful dashboards and reports that support strategic decision‐making.This position follows a hybrid work model based in Guadalajara, requiring regular collaboration from the office while providing flexibility to work remotely.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards.Build semantic data models optimized for performance, scalability, and usability.Develop advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, calculated columns, measures, and time intelligence.Create reusable Power Query (M) transformations and ETL processes.Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including SQL Server, AWS, APIs, Oracle, SAP, SharePoint, Excel, and cloud platforms.Optimize dashboard performance through efficient modeling and query tuning.Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Work closely with Data Engineers to improve data pipelines and warehouse architecture.Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), governance policies, and best practices for Power BI environments.Publish, manage,
and maintain reports within Power BI Service.Configure workspaces, deployment pipelines, gateways, scheduled refreshes, and security groups.Participate in data governance initiatives and establish BI development standards.Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.Support production environments by troubleshooting data issues and performance bottlenecks.Document solutions, data models, and development standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.5+ years of hands‐on experience developing Power BI solutions.Strong expertise in:Power BI DesktopPower BI ServicePower Query (M)DAXData ModelingAdvanced SQL development skills.Experience designing dimensional models (Star Schema and Snowflake Schema).
Experience working with:SQL ServerAWS SQLMicrosoft Fabric (preferred)Experience integrating REST APIs and multiple enterprise data sources.Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts.Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
Knowledge of CI/CD for Power BI deployments.Experience using Git or AWS DevOps.Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
