We are looking for a Senior-level Metrology Engineer with senior-level expertise in Calypso, PolyWorks, OGP Vision Systems, GD&T; (ASME Y14.5), and Siemens NX (CAD Design).

In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Reliability & Quality Lab Manager, collaborating with general metrology labs to enhance our incoming inspection measurement methodologies, provide training, and manage equipment.

Performs advanced measurement development initiatives supporting corporate directives to meet market requirements (key interaction with principal engineers, engineering managers, and directors).

Measurement development initiatives will include but not be limited to: developing corporate measurement technology plans, analysis, determining implications of measurement uncertainty, influencing internal and external projects for new technologies and novel applications to support Shure needs.

Responsibilities

Serves as a subject matter expert for matters regarding geometric dimensioning and tolerance application
Responsible for setting the direction in dimensional metrology.




Responsible for the development and standardization of mechanical inspection and measurement methodologies and operator training.
Assesses metrology equipment capabilities as well as assist in the procurement and implementation of new equipment as needed.
Applies advanced concepts and understanding of mathematical definitions of GD&T; (e.g., ASME Y14.5.1) and their implications to support design intent (of product, tooling, machine)
Makes recommendation on optimum design of fixtures, tooling, machines, sensors, and measurement systems by working with Design Engineering (product and machine)
Develops and maintains expertise standing in the field of dimensional metrology through networking, research, and continuous education.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
