**Responsibilities**:
- Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of multiple variables.
- Makes decisions under supervision on engineering problems and methods to resolve technical questions and to plan and coordinate work.
- Receives direction on new aspects of assignments with focus on desired results.
- Consults with supervisor concerning problems and escalations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis and methodologies.
- Assignments usually include one or more of the following:
- Plans, develops,
coordinates engineering change projects or a number of small change projects with many features.
- Assess validation strategies for engineering evaluation tests, for products or process changes as proposed by suppliers.
- Applies hypotheses and an understanding of cause and effect when analyzing a process, situation or issue or discerning data patterns.
- Participates in strategic projects such as manufacturing transfers and cost reduction initiatives.
- Preparation of specifications, Process study, Protocol and Reports.
- Other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific areas of assignments.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Responsible for the purchase or of equipment that meets health, safety and environmental standards set by the company.
- Responsible for performing validation assessments to ensure processes and products are safe and produced using environmentally sound methods.
**SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES**
- May supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a limited group of technicians or contractors.
- Is responsible for the communication of issues and opportunities related to the business at the next level of management
- For positions with supervisory responsibilities, ensures that subordinates follow all company alignments related to health, safety, and environmental practices and that all necessary resources are available and in good condition.
- Performs other assigned tasks, as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in relevant discipline and four or more years of related engineering experience
- Or MS degree with 2 or more years of related engineering experience.
- Experience in the medical device industry
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of MS Suite - MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
- Must possess the understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Has product and process validation experience.
- Organizational skills related to how to run and document a meeting are desired.
- English and Spanish communication skills, written and oral.
