The Battery Chief Engineer (CE) is the owner for their assigned battery programs. In general, the CE is responsible for defining, communicating, approving, and tracking adherence to battery and battery system level functional objectives, requirements, and technical deliverables per required timing. This role is also the battery team's primary technical Interface to Vehicle & Powertrain Integration, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Electrical Eng Core, Electrification Powertrain team, Controls, Calibration, Quality, and EE Systems. The CE addresses and presents battery technical items for reviews in high level meetings as needed. Owns the approval of the battery/battery system technical requirements document, system testing and validation testing while leading a cross functional team and battery technical experts.

**Basic Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 8 years of technical work experience. Minimum of 2 years in an CE/ACE role/lead engineer or similar experience.
- Knowledge of DFMEA and DVP&R; development and execution
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, self-starter, and strong independent leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
**Preferred Requirements**:
- Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from accredited university
- Prior experience in hybrids or the electrification of propulsion systems
- Strengths in controls, calibration, and simulation work
