Steering Design & Release Engineer is responsible to design, develop, validate,
and release parts under his/her responsibility for the assigned programs. The
D&R; focus is on designing quality components having a cost-efficient focus. The
Steering D&R; must design parts compliant with Corporate and Local Requirements,
consider the WCR (Worldwide Customer Requirements), ES (Engineering
Specification) and SDS (System Design Specification) as well as Manufacturing
and Assembly requirements. The engineer is also responsible for parts
incorporation at the Assembly Plants. Steering D&R; is responsible for evaluating
the engineering changes requested by supplier base and ensure there are no
adverse effects to Manufacturing and Assembly process. Steering D&R; needs to
define failure modes, root causes, and use tools like CAE, bench, HIL, etc, to
define the best solution suited for each condition. Steering D&R; is responsible
as well to monitor warranties for steering components,



and work through design,
and/or process to solve and prevent recurrence of similar warranties.
