Requirements
Must have:
Windows - AD, DHCP,DC
Virtualization - VMWare - Vcenter
Windows Upgrade
Powershell
Patching SCCM, WSUS
Configuration Changes: Harden servers based on best practices (using guides like CIS Benchmarks).
Guided Software Upgrades in collaboration with SW Vendor Support: If certain software versions are vulnerable, consider upgrading to a more secure version.
Remediation Records: Document the vulnerability, the action taken, the date of action, and any other pertinent details.
Compensating Controls or Exceptions: If a vulnerability cannot be direct-ly addressed, consider compensating controls like a Web Application Fire-wall (WAF), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), or additional monitoring.
Understanding of NTFS and File Server permissions
