**Position Summary**:
**The Senior Human Resources Generalist - Mexico** reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for executing a wide range of HR functions, with emphasis on payroll, compliance, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, and performance management. This experienced professional brings deep knowledge of Mexican labor law, payroll compliance, and HR operations to ensure legal compliance, drive operational excellence, and enhance the employee experience. The role is **based at our Guadalajara Call Center** and **works closely with the U.S.based HR team.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Payroll Administration**
- Oversee full-cycle, manual payroll processing in partnership with external payroll providers to ensure accurate, timely wage payments, deductions, and compliance with all tax obligations.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in **SUA, IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR, and other statutory systems**, including regular filings, audits, and reconciliations.
- Conduct payroll audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Mexican federal and local employment regulations.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies swiftly and provide high-level support for escalated employee payroll inquiries.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure correct GL mapping and alignment with financial reporting.
**HR Compliance & Recordkeeping**
- Ensure strict compliance with Ley Federal del Trabajo, INFONAVIT, and fiscal regulations through the design and execution of compliant HR practices.
- Maintain detailed and legally sound employee records, including contracts, disciplinary actions, terminations, and statutory documentation.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory updates and proactively update policies and internal procedures in coordination with legal counsel.
- Lead internal HR audits and support external labor inspections or government audits.
**Employee Relations & Workplace Culture**
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on sensitive employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and legal risk mitigation.
- Guide leaders on disciplinary actions, ensuring alignment with labor law and internal policies.
- Champion initiatives that support employee well-being, engagement, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous feedback.
**Onboarding, Offboarding & Retention**
- Oversee the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance and a positive employee experience.
- Partner with talent acquisition teams to support the hiring process, including requisition approvals, interviews, and offer management.
- Lead retention efforts through data analysis, pulse surveys, and stay/exit interviews, and develop strategic action plans based on findings.
- Ensure compliance with final pay regulations, termination settlements (including finiquito), and all legal offboarding requirements.
**Performance Management**
- Drive performance management strategies across the organization, including 30/60/90-day reviews, annual evaluations, and ongoing coaching frameworks.
- Assist managers in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Facilitate workshops or provide guidance to managers on delivering feedback, conducting evaluations, and succession planning.
**Training & Development**
- Identify critical skills gaps and recommend tailored training programs aligned with business needs.
- Coordinate compliance training (e.g., harassment prevention, labor law updates) and track employee completion.
- Partner with leadership on professional development and career pathing efforts.
- Measure training effectiveness and adjust programs to ensure continuous improvement.
**Compensation & Benefits**
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs including **grocery vouchers, vacation, life insurance, bonuses, and PTU (profit sharing)** in alignment with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analysis to support salary structures and pay equity.
- Serve as the liaison between employees and benefit providers, resolving escalated concerns and coordinating vendor meetings.
**Union Relations**
- Represent HR in meetings with union leaders and employee representatives, maintaining productive and legally compliant labor relations.
- Support and participate in collective bargaining processes, including negotiations and contract renewals.
- Address grievances and ensure grievance handling processes are compliant with union agreements and labor law.
- Keep leadership informed of union dynamics, risks, and opportunities.
