Our client is a growing commercial structural steel fabrication and installation company based in the United States. After recently restructuring its operations, the company is rebuilding its team and is looking for key hires to support its continued growth. They specialize in structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, and steel installation projects for commercial construction.
Position Overview
The client is seeking a Full-Time Remote Structural Steel Estimator who will take ownership of the estimating process. This role will work closely with the owner to prepare accurate project estimates, allowing leadership to focus on project management and business operations.
- Pre-engineered metal building installations
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software and manual markups when necessary.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and supplier quotations for steel packages, materials, and subcontracted work.
- Work directly with company leadership to understand estimating methodologies, labor rates, overhead, and target profit margins.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with project profitability goals.
- Utilize various estimating and construction management software platforms, including Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, and similar tools.
- Maintain organized bid documentation and support project transitions after contract award.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
