Description
Ford's Environmental Quality Office is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our team on a temporary contract of just over six months, covering an employee's maternity leave. In this role, you will provide technical and regulatory support across environmental areas such as air, water, wastewater, waste, tanks, and remediation, helping ensure compliance and supporting Ford's Corporate Footprint and Manufacturing objectives. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental compliance within a general automotive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and regulatory support for one or more environmental media/operational areas (air, water, wastewater, waste, tanks, materials, Environmental Operating System, ISO14001, site reports, decommissioning, remediation, permitting, modeling, regulatory communications, testing, site audits, focus visits, etc.).
- Support the achievement of Corporate Footprint and Manufacturing business plan objectives and targets, including compliance index, water usage, waste reduction,
energy efficiency, and hydrocarbon management.
- Develop accurate and complete correspondence (reports, permit applications, etc.) to support site environmental compliance, legacy and site remediation projects, and business plan objectives.
- Track progress and spending on environmental capital and expense projects to ensure action items are completed on time and within budget.
- Support technical aspects of environmental systems, including the Environmental Operating System, site decommissioning, compliance assurance, and management reviews.
- Utilize environmental software applications (ICSM, I-Points, Business Objects, SharePoint, E-tracker, modeling software) to help achieve site business objectives and targets.
- Build strong, productive working relationships with environmental professionals and manufacturing/non-manufacturing contacts throughout the company.
