We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of **Network Security Analyst**
The Network Security Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Cybersecurity Technology Engineering team. This role focuses on assisting in the protection of HSBC's brand, shareholder value, information, and financial assets by contributing to the implementation and maintenance of security measures across the network infrastructure.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in network security within a global financial institution. The Junior Network Security Analyst will gain valuable experience in cybersecurity practices and contribute to the safeguarding of HSBC's digital assets.
**Role Porpuse**:
- **Security Documentation Review**:
- Assist in conducting reviews of security documentation to identify potential gaps in security controls.
- Support the development and implementation of remediation plans for identified security deficiencies.
- **Technical Support and Guidance**:
- Provide technical support and guidance on primarily on network solutions but also cryptography and data to projects and business units.
- Ensure adherence to global cybersecurity requirements through effective compliance measures.
- **Risk Management**:
- Collaborate with the Business as part of the first line of defence (1LOD) to maintain visibility of IT security risk profiles and control effectiveness.
- Assist in engaging with regional and integral cybersecurity stakeholders to address security concerns.
- **Knowledge and Best Practices**:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- **Mentorship and Development**:
- Seek guidance and mentorship from senior staff to enhance personal and professional development.
**Technical Skills and Experience**:
- Understanding of cybersecurity controls and industry trends.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity technologies such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, and proxies.
- Basic knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP, DNS) and network protocol analysis tools.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google is beneficial.
- Ability to create detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations.
**Qualifications**:
- Industry certifications such as CC, CISSP, CISA, or CISM are advantageous.
- Experience in IT or cybersecurity, preferably within a financial or regulated environment.
