- **50% Regional Customs Operations Management**
- Independently manage and instruct daily import/export operations for South American countries by issuing instructions to customs agents via trade management systems.
- Conduct thorough verification of complex customs and commercial documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB) to ensure full compliance with local regulations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customs agencies and regional logistics teams, resolving difficult operational inquiries and managing requirements for customs declarations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all necessary documentation and information is provided to customs brokers in a timely manner.
- **30% Compliance, Auditing, and Reporting**
- Maintain and oversee accurate, auditable records of all foreign trade operations per country, ensuring data integrity and compliance with record-keeping policies.
- Support internal and external customs audits by preparing documentation, consolidating information, and explaining operational processes to auditors.
- Consolidate data for regional performance reports and dashboards, analyzing operational KPIs to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
- Ensure all customs activities are performed in alignment with internal control procedures (ICPs) and company policies.
- **20% Process Integrity and Risk Mitigation**




- Proactively identify, investigate, and escalate documentary inconsistencies or compliance risks to the Regional Customs Manager for resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of customs processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on operational feedback and regulatory changes.
- Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals or support staff on standard operational tasks to ensure quality and consistency.
**Certifications**:
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
**Education**:
- Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Typically requires 5+ years of experience in international trade compliance or customs operations, aligned with a Senior Professional (P3) level.
- Demonstrated experience working with customs agencies and documentation requirements in Latin American countries (excluding Brazil) is highly desirable.
- Intermediate proficiency in English for reading technical documents and basic communication.
