Description
As a Controls Engineering Specialist at our Chihuahua Engine Plant, you will design, implement, and maintain automation and control systems for machining processes. This includes full vendor runoff validations for new equipment, installation process, optimizing equipment effectiveness, troubleshooting CNCs (Siemens Sinumerik One), PLCs and robots (ABB), and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
• Follow up on Launch machining controls engineering deliverables for Power Train Operations programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all General PTO sites.
• Implement and apply standard software and hardware controls architectures across all programs/plants, following the PTO controls specification.
• Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned along with their application to new programs, as well as the impact to existing strategies and standards.
• Participate simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers to orchestrate controls program reviews with all interested parties.




• Participate in management program reviews and represent the controls organization in commodity discussions.
• Drive the controls organization to resolve issues, including feasibility, timing, cost and workload.
• Handle current scope program responsibilities.
• Travel up to 80% during peak program times.
• Work off shift, as the need arises, during peak program install and launch times.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related
• Experience in controls engineering with strong ability to quickly learn and apply controls knowledge
• Extensive software programming experience - Siemens based preferred
• Direct program experience with assembly and machining controls architectures (hardware/software)
• Validated programming capabilities with Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLCs and with CNC/Motion controls systems
