Role description
Main activities:
Responsible to:
Provide tax advisory to the business on new transactions or products, enquiries received from clients, business campaigns or new tax regulations impacting the business products.
Design and execute a robust review of the tax calculations related to withholding taxes/VAT on products,for evaluating their accuracy and any issues or deviations, as well as, current/deferred tax.
Execute review over the controls related to tax processes for mitigating risk (2LOD) among the Line of Business, such as, withholding taxes, informative returns (e.g. interest, FATCA, CRS), tax receipts (constancias fiscales) and any tax process related (e.g. Repse, Carta Porte, CFDI).
Raise and report any issue identified during the reviews and follow up to set the proper actions for its remediation working with the Functions and Businesses areas involved, as well as, informing to the Head of Tax and internal senior management forums. Follow up the remediation of the issues identified until its resolution and proper documental governance.
Tax risk management working with UK tax and risk groups for adopting the integral and standard procedures to monitor, administrate and report the Risk Map for taxes Mexico. Implement the proper governance in Mexico among the tax function or with functions/businesses to administrate and mitigate the Risk based on the global/local policies and procedures.
Optimization of the tax process for conducting the tax reviews, through automations or strategies applicable to the tax reviews processes to be more efficient and reduce risk on manual process, reduce the time invested on doing to transform them on more analytical and strategical,



avoiding penalties due to late identification and generate a real value for the Functions and Businesses on the anticipated identification that allows their remediation, implementation of tactical/strategical solutions or document the risk acceptance properly, as well as, asking for the budget and priority to the businesses.
Impact on the Business
Working with other areas who provide information for achieving the reviews, as well as provide correct advisory for the accuracy of the tax calculations or impacts.
Identification of any tax risk on or potential tax issues, raising them on time, keeping informed to the Head of Tax. Raise and report any issue identified during the 2LOD reviews and follow up to set the proper actions for its remediation with the corresponding areas involved until their resolution, contributing to mitigate and reduce the tax risk exposure.
Automation of key tax reviews processes to be more efficient and reduce risk on manual process, avoiding penalties due to late identification and generate a real value for the Functions and Business on the anticipated identification that allows their remediation, implement tactical/strategical solutions or document the risk acceptance.
Technical skills:
Provide tax advisory to the business on new transactions or products . – Brindar asesoría sobre el tratamiento fiscal para productos y transacciones financieras que ejecute el Banco (eg. Swaps, Fondos de inversión, Estructuración de créditos, Ventas de cartera, Campañas, Tarjetas de crédito, Inversiones)




Design and execute a robust review of the tax calculations related to withholding taxes/VAT on products, for evaluating their accuracy and any issues or deviations, as well as, current/deferred tax.
Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration or Economic Areas.
8+ years of experience in Tax, specifically on Financial Sector companies or Big4. Fiscal technical knowledge on transactions carried out by financial entities (mainly, Banks, Funds, Brokerage house).
Knowledge and experience on advisoring on tax matters applicable to financial transactions including Fatca/CRS. Experience on execution of tax reviews.
Strong Skills
