We are currently seeking an Operations Manager / Assistant Manager to join our team in Mexicali, Mexico.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
As part of the operations leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing production, engineering, quality, and support teams to ensure operational excellence.
This includes overseeing daily manufacturing activities, driving productivity improvements, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and managing budgets.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer requirements, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role requires a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage complex operations, and a proven track record of improving efficiency and profitability.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Production & Process Management: Oversee daily production operations,
schedules, and resources to meet delivery, cost, and quality goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, KPI-based management, and continuous improvement projects.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with world-class quality standards, perform inspections, and lead corrective/preventive actions.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all EH&S; regulations.
- Budget & Resource Control: Manage operational budgets (direct/indirect labor, materials, capital), prepare cost estimates, and optimize resource utilization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance teams to improve processes, support audits, and drive NPIs.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop staff through performance reviews, coaching, and training programs.
- Customer Focus: Align operational performance with business unit goals and customer expectations.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations (cable assembly, or wire harness experience preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility across multi-functional teams.
- Proven track record of cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with production management systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.
- Experience in multinational companies and/or establishing new operational teams is a plus.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
