The Lead NPI Engineer is responsible for leading the successful introduction of new electronic products from development through full-scale production.
This role acts as the technical bridge between design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external suppliers, ensuring products are launched on time, within cost targets, and meet all performance and quality requirements.The idóneo candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong cross‐functional communication skills and deep experience in electronics manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all NPI activities from prototype through mass production for electronic productsServe as the primary technical owner during product transfer from R&D; to ManufacturingCoordinate cross‐functional teams including Design, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Test, and OperationsDevelop and execute NPI project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategiesDrive DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews to optimize product manufacturability and testabilityManage prototype builds, pilot runs, and ramp‐to‐production activitiesDefine and validate manufacturing processes, test strategies, fixtures, and toolingLead BOM reviews, process FMEAs, control plans, and work instructionsCollaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure readiness and complianceIdentify and resolve yield,
quality, and reliability issues during buildsSupport cost reduction, scalability, and continuous improvement initiativesMentor and provide technical guidance to NPI and manufacturing engineersEnsure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirementsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field7+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or NPI rolesProven experience leading new product launches in a high‐volume or complex environmentStrong knowledge of:PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, and electronic componentsSMT/TH processes and electronic manufacturing equipmentManufacturing documentation and change control processesExperience working with EMS providers or internal manufacturing teamsStrong project management and cross‐functional leadership skillsExcellent problem‐solving and communication abilitiesPreferred:Master's degree in Engineering or related fieldExperience with global manufacturing or supplier managementFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or IPC standardsExperience in regulated industries (automotive, medical, aerospace, etc.)#J-*****-Ljbffr
