Analyst, Nogales Transportation Management
This role is within Chamberlain Group's Operations and Supply Chain group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Participate with the transportation management staff in the definition of the Chamberlain Group transportation model and the development and application of long-term strategies, and (ii) Participate in the development of annual budget and forecasts, as well as carrier rate negotiations as needed. Requires 1-3 years in a fast-paced distribution/manufacturing environment, with emphasis on transportation/logistics and cross-border operations and a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, engineering or information systems, or equivalent experience.
- Participate with the transportation management staff in the definition of the Chamberlain Group transportation model and the development and application of long-term strategies
- Participate in the development of annual budget and forecasts, as well as carrier rate negotiations as needed
- Recommend and maintain a complete set of management controls (metrics), improvements to the definition of performance standards, compliance, and results measurement
- Develop, automate, and monitor key performance indicators and recommend and coordinate needed actions to maintain them within required limits – includes data extraction and analysis
- Develop and interpret standard transportation operating policies and procedures that apply to the various locations
- Assure effective participation, process adherence,
and compliance to standard transportation processes by all locations and departments; analyze business processes and recommend and coordinate improvements to workflow and reporting procedures
- Perform cost and economic analyses to support management decision making and cost management; provide supporting data analysis for productivity projects and participate in their execution
- Maintain carrier contract records across various systems across all modes
- Participate in the definition, planning and implementation of new transportation systems and other technologies
- Conduct research and analytical studies of emerging lean transportation technologies and facilitate the transportation management team's awareness of new concepts and opportunities
- Act as the transportation technology and operational liaison to IT and external solution suppliers for special projects
- Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, engineering or information systems, or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 1-3 years in a fast-paced distribution/manufacturing environment, with emphasis on transportation/logistics and cross-border operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced MS-Office skills, graphing and numerical analysis, presentations and flowcharting
Other:
- Strong command of English (conversational, writing)
