Maintain accurate payroll operational and audit records and prepare reports for management, accounting, auditing and compliance purposesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, and company policiesPrimary Contact for all payroll Audits and ensuring that all requirements are tracked and metPrimary Contact for all Compensation accounting and tax related questions including ensuring resolution of all inquiriesReceive and address payroll related notices and requests from IRS and CRA and other external entitiesResponsible for managing escheatment process and garnishments for Payroll OperationsSupport internal customer reporting inquiries with a sense of urgency to meet or exceed required deadlinesEnsure that all payroll related risk mitigating controls are completed and addressed in each pay cycleConduct daily, weekly, and monthly activities to drive compliance to policiesSupport quarterly and year-end payroll activities such as W-2, T4 and other tax related forms preparation and distributionPerform complex calculations and reconciliations in addition to root cause analysisEnsure that the Payroll Team is maintaining all control documentation on an on-going basisMaintain documentation for internal audits and compliance reviewsSupport Payroll Manager in the preparation and reporting of the Monthly Operating ReviewsProvide insights and recommendations to improve and automate reports or controls ensuring effective and efficient complianceStay current with changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant legislationDevelop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders utilizing strong verbal and written communication skillsAbsorb, interpret, and explain several types of information/data with an analytical and quantitative mindsetCollaborate and request advice as needed with Tax and other consulting firms to ensure complianceStrict adherence to checklists and procedure guides/workflows,
ensuring SOPs and Operational documentation are kept up-to-dateEscalate to Payroll Manager or Supervisor where appropriateProvide training and coaching to new employees and system users on Policies and ControlsOther duties as assignedQualified Candidates Will HaveBachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, human resources, finance or business related field5-7 years' experience in payroll processing, preferably in US environmentStrong ADP GlobalView and SmartCompliance experience3+ years' experience in Payroll Audits and Payroll AccountingBilingual in English – Excellent communication in English both written and verbalExcellent understanding of Payroll Accounting and ControlsProficiency with payroll software (e.G., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and Microsoft Excel.An aptitude for working as part of dynamic team with diverse membersAbility to prioritize tasks, work and manage multiple assignments in a team environmentStrong analytical, consultative, quantitative, and project management skillsExecutive presence, and excellent communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills with an aptitude for working as part of a integral teamJob DescriptionAnalyse, interpret results and develop recommendations that support the development and maintenance of effective HR programs aligned with the organisation's strategy.
