Type:Part-time, project-based (ongoing work expected)Start date:ImmediateAbout the role
We develop educational games and are looking for a graphic designer to produce artwork for our titles on an ongoing, project-by-project basis.
Our visual style has already been established by our lead designer, so the priority isn't original art direction — it's a designer who can faithfully follow a defined style, deliver clean cartoon characters, and recolor existing assets to spec.Game industry experience isnotrequired.
What matters is strong cartoon character work, confident coloring, and the discipline to hit a brief exactly.
We have 5–10 projects of this scope lined up to begin with, and expect this to grow into a long-term working relationship for continued product development. What you'll do (per project)
Design1 main cartoon characterwith9 motion variants(following our established style)
Design4–5 secondary characters(e.g. zooplankton — simpler, non-distinctive supporting assets)
Recolor an existing backgroundwe provide as a working design file (Adobe Illustrator or In Design), e.g. shifting a blue sky to gold
Recolor 3–4 individual objectswithin that background, e.g. shifting orange coral to salmon
Characters are delivered as standalone assets — no backgrounds bundled with the character itself. What we're looking for
A strong portfolio ofcute, expressive cartoon characterswith appealing faces and clear personality
Excellent sense ofcolorand consistency
Comfort working inAdobe Illustratorand/orIn Designwith files supplied by our team
Ability tofollow detailed specs preciselyand match an established art style rather than impose your own
Reliable turnaround on project-based workHow to apply
Before we move forward, we'd like to see a short sample so we can confirm style fit.
Reference style to match:the art style used in this fishing game.Sample task:create acute clam characterin that style.
We've also attached a reference image of a clam in adifferentstyle — share it only to illustrate the kind of cute features and funny expression we like; the final piece should match the fishing-game style, not the reference image's style. Please submit the clam character withno background(the character is treated as a single asset in the game).
To apply, send your portfolio, resume, and the clam sample toepak@.
