Freight Forwarder Regional Vice President

ResponsibilitiesFormulates, communicates and administers long range goals and objectivesReviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine region progress toward stated goals and objectivesAccepts responsibility for the profitability of the assigned account(s) through accurate and timely preparation of financial budgets and forecastsConfers with various personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditionsManages customer account relationships to deliver overall customer satisfactionAssists the business development group in securing business with new customers or additional business with existing customersManages operations management personnel by interviewing, hiring, training, directing, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problemsProvides overall direction, coordination,



and evaluation of the regionCarries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsOther duties as required and assignedRequirementsBachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university (master's preferred)Minimum 8 to 11 years related experience and/or training10 years experience with general freight forwarding (must)Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general publicAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferenceAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formLocation
