We are driven by our vision of a world in which electricity is no longer a luxury good, and we are looking for talented, driven individuals to help us light the world with cleaner, more affordable energy solutions.The Role:New Fortress Energy is seeking a Gas Turbine Controls FSE to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas turbine-driven LNG production and power generation assets across our Fast LNG portfolio. This role will serve as the technical authority for the GE LM6000 PF+ Main Refrigeration Driver and the facility's three Siemens SGT-400 gas turbines, providing expertise in gas turbine controls, operation, commissioning, combustion tuning, fuel mapping, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting. The position will focus on maximizing turbine reliability, availability, efficiency,
and operational performance while developing in-house technical capability and reducing reliance on OEM field service support. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical Services teams to ensure all gas turbine assets are operated and maintained to the highest standards while supporting startups, shutdowns, major outages, control system improvements, reliability initiatives, and continuous performance optimization across the facility.What you will do:- Serve as the technical authority for the GE LM6000 PF+ Main Refrigeration Driver and three Siemens SGT-400 gas turbines.- Support all startup, shutdown, synchronization, operation, and performance optimization activities.- Perform combustion tuning, fuel mapping, emissions optimization, and load optimization.- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize GE Mark VIe and Siemens turbine control systems.- Investigate trips, alarms, combustion dynamics, vibration, and performance degradation.- Analyze operating data to maximize turbine efficiency, reliability, and availability.- Develop turbine operating philosophies, procedures, and performance standards.- Support commissioning, major inspections, borescope inspections, and outage execution.- Interface directly with GE Vernova and Siemens Energy technical support organizations.- Lead root cause analyses for turbine failures and significant operating events.- Develop long-term turbine reliability and lifecycle management strategies.- Support digital performance monitoring, predictive analytics, and fleet benchmarking.- Train operations and maintenance personnel in turbine operation and troubleshooting.- Reduce dependency on OEM Field Service Engineers through the development of internal technical capability.- Promote operational excellence,
turbine reliability, and continuous performance improvement.What you bring:- Extensive experience supporting GE LM6000 PF+ and Siemens SGT-400 gas turbines.- Expert knowledge of GE Mark VIe turbine controls and turbine automation systems.- Strong understanding of combustion tuning, fuel mapping, vibration analysis, and turbine performance optimization.- Experience supporting LNG, offshore, power generation, or compressor-driven facilities.- Experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing gas turbine control systems.- Strong understanding of gas turbine auxiliaries and supporting systems.- Ability to perform advanced technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and OEM technical teams.Work Conditions:- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write.- Must be able to board a ship via a gangway, climb to the top of a tank (200+ steps), scale vertical steel ladder up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors & outdoors, and be exposed to year-around weather conditions, ocean environment, and noise.
