POSITION SUMMARY The Purchasing Manager will lead and support their team of Buyers to ensure that they meet their goals and continuously improve their performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead the team of Buyers (8-10) in Mexicali - Set performance goals for the Buyers and establish actions plans to meet them - Manages the regional Buyer team including coaching, training, resource allocation, PTO, HR systems maintenance…) - Serves as the 1st point of escalation for expediting critical shortages for Operations.
- Lead lean, cost savings and continuous improvement projects related to purchasing, space optimization, and inbound freight costs as required - Recommends ideas that improve effectiveness and efficiency of team to Director, Americas Purchasing - Reviews all purchase orders that require approval per Vertiv procedures to ensure SOX compliance - Responsible for ensuring that procedures exist and are documented to support Buyers’ compliance with Vertiv Procurement and Operations procedures QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing,
Supply Chain Management or equivalent functional experience required - Strong leadership skills and proven track record of driving continuous improvement - APICS or ISM certification or evidence showing progress towards achieving required - Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with senior-level leadership - Excellent organizational, analytical thinking and multi-tasking skills - Detail-oriented and ability to thrive is a fast-paced environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and responsiveness - Strong understanding of cost management best practices - Proficient using ERP systems e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.
