The Plant Director The Plant Director will own end-to-end plant performance for the El Salto plant, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and sustainable operations.
Job Duties / Responsibilities Deliver superior results across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash, Service, and New Product Introduction (NPI), while enhancing customer satisfaction, supporting business growth, and representing the plant effectively with key external stakeholders
Lead and integrate cross‑functional execution, ensuring seamless coordination across all functions to deliver operational objectives on time and at optimal cost
Own overall plant performance and financials, including operating budgets, cost control, and performance monitoring
Proactively identify gaps and initiate corrective and preventive actions to ensure target achievement
Maintain transparency and alignment within the Plant Leadership Team
Define and execute the manufacturing strategy, establishing a clear strategic direction that optimizes the use of people, equipment, materials, and capital while meeting customer requirements
Establish and rigorously sustain the Goodyear Production System (GPS) as the foundational operating model of the plant, ensuring standardization, process discipline, and continuous performance improvement
Develop and implement the plant masterplan (3–5 years), including investment planning, capability building, and technology roadmap to ensure long‑term competitiveness and manufacturing excellence
Ensure visible leadership in Health, Safety, Environment, Sustainability, Ethics, and Compliance, fostering a culture where safety, integrity, and accountability are core to our operations and how we do business
Ensure full compliance with legal, statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements while promoting safe reporting, timely investigation of concerns, and effective corrective actions
Build and sustain a high‑performing Plant Leadership Team, strengthening leadership effectiveness, establishing a robust succession pipeline, and fostering a unified "One Enterprise" mindset across the site
Key Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Management, or equivalent field of study required
Experience: 15+ years manufacturing experience in a large plant required (experience in managing complexity)




5-10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
5+ years in a Continuous Improvement / TPM / Lean production environment (Operational Excellence)
Experience in a union environment and labor law (preferred)
Proven track record of in plant leadership roles
Demonstrated, measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, production, and service (Safety and Quality Champion)
Key Skills Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills. (Problem Solver)
Demonstrated ability to work in high performance and servant leader cultures (People Leader)
Demonstrated ability to build talent and direct cross‑functional teams
Strong organizational and planning abilities
Strong leadership skills and strategic thinking (agile change agent)
Strong financial skills and business mindset
Strong communication & presentation skills to convince, negotiate and handle matters at different levels (Relationship builder)
