Job Description Primary Function of Position
Under the general supervision of the Import/Export Manager, the Customs and Logistics Analyst is responsible for executing international shipments, inbound and outbound, of merchandise under customs regulations from Mexico and other applicable countries. Traffic Analyst works with customs brokers, carriers and other logistic service providers to coordinate international shipments.
Request the part number registration and/or changes on customs inventory systems according to business requirements.
Request information to update the Bill of Material (BOM),
requesting information.
Create and review international documents required for shipments.
Escalation of any customs request and inquiry.
Support maintaining recordkeeping.
Operates under guidelines associated with duties and taxes and freight forwarder expenses.
Keep destinations internal and external customers informed regarding their shipments.
Responsible for virtual operations.
Collect the necessary information to request the HS Code for the goods.
Create documentation to clear customs, such as but not limited to commercial invoices, Packing list.
Verify information is accurate in International Documents regarding Country of origin, value, HS Code, description.
Coordinates Logistics providers (Broker, carrier, and freight forwarder, etc.) to clear customs.
Confirm accurate information on documents when free trade agreements, duty preference programs and others apply.
Responsible for scrap shipments (Outbound).
Coordinates and follow up shipments up to its destination.
Responsible for Inventory at 3PL's location.
Perform ERP transactions for shipments or according to business necessities if required.
Participate in the continuous improvement of current systems and processes.
Coordinates activities related to expedited shipments, documentation, and regulations.
Communicate status to internal and external customers from logistics operation.
Updates reports and other logs from the import export operation.
Qualifications Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
Intermediate Excel/ Microsoft Office application.
Intermediate conversational English
Experience and Knowledge:
Customs Legal Frame appliedto areas such as: - Regimen Customs operations- General Rules of Foreign Trade- Customs operations (virtual / definitive, temporary).
Requirements from record keeping.
Creating International documents andlook for information from Customs Inventory System (Annex 24).
Managing and identifying different kinds of scrap. (Export).
Different carrier tools for shipment and tracking.
Customs clearance and International logistics.
Execute 3 different from the following operations: Equipment (Line transfer), Spares, Raw materials, FG Endoscopes, FG SUD FG REP, Scrap, others.
Navigate on 3PL portal and execute: Loads, BOH reports, etc.
Equipment inventory and tracking.
Support solving discrepancies from the owned process.
Basic knowledge:
VAT and AEO/CTPAT certifications.
IT Tools for consulting HTS codes and Customs regulations
Required Education and Training
2+ Years of experience related to Customs and Trade Compliance.
Bachelor's degree: Foreign Trade, Customs, Logistics, Law, International Business, or similar.
Working Conditions:
Access to Areas where appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including footwear, eye protection, and other safety gear as necessary.
