**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for support of General Ledger, specifically as it relates to fixed asset and lease accounting for month end closing, account reconciliations and analysis, and management while requiring intermediate supervision.
Essential Functions:
This position is to process and supervise on the following functions:
- Review of all NA Rail Companies asset appropriation requests for correctness and completeness
- Responsible for accurate fixed asset capitalization of all NA Rail Companies, book and tax in accordance with KB Policies
- Responsible for proper fixed asset disposals in accordance with KB Policies
- Responsible for all Real Estate transactions, including review and accounting for all leases
- Fixed assets account reconciliations
- Monthly journal entries (capital asset accruals, impairment accruals etc)
- Internal capital orders, assets under construction, capital budgets, year-end processing, and tax depreciations
- Preparation of Mexican fixed assets and IFRS 16 lease reporting disclosures
- Managing monthly IFRS 16 postings and ensuring lease rent expense accounts are reviewed, and all expenses reclassified properly
- Prepare data capturing sheet for IFRS 16 lease
- Provide and complete fixed asset and lease information required for Mexican tax filing.
- Fixed asset audits for Knorr-Bremse NA Rail Companies, with all current plants on 3-year rotation cycle
- Support the team and partner/train others
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of fixed asset business requirements, account reconciliations, accounting principles and procedures. Mexican tax laws as it relates to real property, tangible and Intangible property
**Experience**:
- 2-5 years of experience in general accounting within a manufacturing or public accounting environment
- SAP or other ERP experience preferred
**Skills**:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
- Proper business communication skills, verbal and written
- Able to confidently and efficiently correspond to all levels of management
- Advanced independent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Shows commitment to process improvement
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business-related field required
- Accounting preferred
