Senior BI Developer – Databricks Reporting Modernization
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Senior BI Developers to join a large-scale Openlink-to-Databricks reporting modernization program.
The role will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise reports and dashboards using certified datasets produced within Databricks. The reporting scope covers Front Office, Risk, Credit, Accounting, Settlements, Operations, and Management Reporting.
The successful candidate will work within a high-velocity delivery environment where multiple reporting workstreams operate concurrently. The emphasis will be on building reusable, scalable reporting solutions rather than embedding report-specific business logic independently within each report.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Build reports using certified Databricks Gold datasets and approved semantic models.
- Translate functional requirements and wireframes into production reporting solutions.
- Develop DAX measures, calculations, filters, hierarchies, and drill-down capabilities.
- Build reusable report components and templates to accelerate delivery.
- Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models where appropriate.
- Work closely with Databricks engineers to identify reporting data requirements.
- Partner with business analysts and SMEs to validate business requirements.
- Support reporting across areas including:
- Trading
- Position and P&L;
- Risk and sensitivities
- Credit exposure
- Inventory
- Accounting
- Settlements and invoicing
- Management reporting
- Implement row-level security and appropriate access controls.
- Optimize reports and semantic models for performance.
- Conduct unit and functional testing.
- Reconcile report outputs against Databricks datasets and source-system control totals.
- Investigate and resolve data and reporting discrepancies.
- Support business UAT and defect remediation.
- Participate in peer reviews and enforce reporting development standards.
- Support automated deployment and CI/CD processes.
- Produce technical documentation and support production transition.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise Business Intelligence solutions.
- Advanced Power BI development experience.
- Strong DAX skills.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience building and maintaining Power BI semantic models.
- Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling.
- Experience developing dashboards and detailed operational reports.
- Experience working with large enterprise datasets.
- Experience implementing row-level security.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing report performance.
- Experience working with Agile development teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing reports directly against Databricks .
- Experience with Databricks SQL.
- Understanding of Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with Azure data platforms.
- Experience with financial-services, energy, commodity trading, or risk reporting.
- Experience with Openlink Endur or other ETRM/CTRM platforms.
- Experience developing P&L;, position, risk, credit, accounting, or settlement reports.
- Experience with high-volume report migration or modernization programs.
- Power BI or Databricks certifications.

Role Profile This position is best suited to a hands-on senior developer who can independently take a report from approved requirements and wireframes through development, testing, reconciliation, UAT, and production deployment.
The project will operate using a report factory approach , with multiple BI developers working concurrently against common Databricks data products. Developers must therefore be comfortable working within established architecture and development standards while delivering reports at a rapid cadence.
Experience working with complex financial or trading datasets is particularly valuable because report accuracy, reconciliation, data lineage, and consistent business calculations are critical to the program.
