- **About the Role**_
The Optometrist will join the clinical team to provide hands-on clinical support to the Patient Care team managing optical, optometry, and ophthalmology services for U.S.based clients.
This position combines clinical knowledge with operational support. The Optometrist works closely with bilingual patient care agents, assisting with initial patient triage, case prioritization, basic clinical guidance, and ensuring adherence to established medical protocols. This role plays an important part in maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Strong clinical judgment, clear communication in English, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential for success in this role.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct initial clinical triage by reviewing patient-reported symptoms and determining urgency.
- Provide guidance on appropriate appointment scheduling based on triage outcomes and clinical protocols.
- Serve as a clinical point of reference for patient care agents to support accurate case handling.
- Manage escalated patient calls that require additional clinical assessment or follow-up.
- Review urgent cases and approve priority scheduling when clinically appropriate.
- Review and support electronic medication refill requests.
- Assist with basic clinical onboarding and training for new team members.
- Partner with the training team to support ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Provide clinical feedback to help refine workflows and protocols.
- Support general clinical activities as needed across daily operations.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Optometry.
- At least three years of clinical experience in optometry or a related field.
- Solid understanding of ocular pathology and basic pharmacology.
- Intermediate English proficiency, with the ability to communicate clearly with patients and internal teams.
- Valid U.S. visa.
- Professional demeanor and strong teamwork skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience or exposure to ophthalmic surgical care.
- Familiarity with clinical documentation and medical records.
- Comfort working with electronic systems and digital platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in remote clinical support or medical call center settings.
