Main Purpose The Sustainability Reporting Specialist advances Orbia’s general sustainability agenda by leading the preparation, consolidation, and quality assurance of both regulatory and voluntary disclosures. This includes Orbia’s annual Impact Report, the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure filings for the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV), and other key disclosures such as CDP and S&P;’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The role manages the end-to-end collection, validation, and traceability of ESG and social impact data across Orbia’s business groups, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit-readiness for third-party assurance.
In addition, the position coordinates the measurement and reporting of social impact metrics and supports employee and stakeholder engagement initiatives by collaborating on sustainability communications, newsletters, volunteering campaigns, and other engagement activities that strengthen awareness of Orbia’s sustainability strategy and performance. Success in this position requires strong analytical rigor, cross-functional project management, attention to detail, sound judgment to proactively identify risks and barriers, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment to strengthen Orbia’s transparency, compliance, impact, and reputation globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation, consolidation, and quality assurance of Orbia’s regulatory and voluntary sustainability disclosures, including Orbia’s annual Impact Report, the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure filings for the BMV, CDP, the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), EcoVadis, and other key reports, ensuring data quality, traceability, and readiness for third-party assurance.
- Coordinate internal and external assurance activities for sustainability disclosures,
including information requests, stakeholder engagement, issue resolution, management responses, and remediation tracking, ensuring timely completion of assurance requirements.
- Coordinate the end-to-end ESG and social data collection process across business groups, validating metrics and maintaining audit-ready documentation, calculation methodologies, and evidence trails.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, People, Communications, and business group sustainability leads (SBLs) to align timelines, workstreams, data requests, and content for regulatory filings, sustainability ratings, and voluntary disclosures.
- Manage and continuously improve sustainability reporting platforms, databases, and digital tools to strengthen data governance, reporting efficiency, internal controls, and disclosure preparation.
- Lead the measurement, tracking, and reporting of social impact metrics, including community investment, volunteering, emergency relief initiatives, charitable contributions, and other social KPIs, ensuring alignment with reporting frameworks and inclusion in the annual Impact Report and related disclosures.
- Lead the coordination of Orbia’s social impact and employee engagement programs, including governance processes, stakeholder engagement, Social Impact Working Group activities, and collaboration across business groups to advance social impact objectives.
- Lead and support volunteering and community engagement initiatives, including campaigns such as Time4Water and emergency relief efforts, coordinating implementation, participation tracking, impact measurement, communications, and reporting.
- Coordinate the production, content collection, and performance tracking of sustainability engagement materials, including quarterly newsletters, special editions, sustainability content for SUS Hub and orbia.com, and other internal and external communications, working closely with the Communications team to strengthen awareness and engagement around Orbia’s sustainability priorities.
- Manage sustainability-related vendors and consultants, including procurement support, proposal and scope reviews, contract coordination with Legal and Treasury, invoice processing, budget tracking, and project administration to support successful delivery of sustainability reporting, social impact, and engagement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Languages: Spanish (native), English (advanced).
- Experience: 3+ years in sustainability reporting, ESG disclosure, audit/assurance, or related data and reporting roles, ideally with exposure to both regulatory and voluntary reporting in a global company.
- Skills in project management and cross-functional initiatives, data analysis, digital data management platforms, writing, and effective communication.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing sustainability disclosures and managing ESG and social data, ensuring data quality and audit-readiness for third-party assurance and alignment with frameworks such as IFRS S1/S2, GRI, CDP, CSA (S&P; Global), and EcoVadis.
