Paralegals are directly responsible for preparing cases for submission and maintain client communication throughout the case lifecycle.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesPrepare USCIS forms and collect supporting documents for case submissionAOS, I-130, National Visa Center processing, Embassy Processing601 Waivers, SIJ applications, WAVA applications, Asylum, I-290B Appeal, Mandamus lawsuitsRemoval proceedings: motions, pleadings, etcNo Employment immigration work is done, only Family, Removal, and Appeal work is done at our firm.Analyze case documents for proper case preparationPerform basic legal research on U.S. immigration and/or family lawCommunicate with new clients and existing clients for case managementRespond to clients and resolve case inquiries within 48 hoursDocument case management and client communication in firm CMSCommunicate with external agencies including USCIS, EOIR,
and other agenciesCommunicate with external persons including opposing counsel and government attorneysMaintain excellent rapport within the production team and with other teams in the firmAssist with administrative tasks, as neededOther duties as neededRequired Skills/AbilitiesBilingual communication skills (English and another language preferred)Basic English writing skillsTech savvy (Microsoft Suite Products a plus)Detail-orientedPositive AttitudeExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to multitask and manage a caseload of 40+ casesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentEducation/ExperienceAt least three year experience in immigration and/or family law as a Legal Assistant or ParalegalBachelor's degree, preferredExperience in a remote work environment is helpfulExceptional candidates will have an impressive ability to establish connections with our clients and potential clients, find out where they need support, and let them know you are there for them, and doing whatever it takes to provide the service they are requesting.
