**What You'll Build**:**Your first months will focus on two high-impact projects**:- A custom in-house customer service platform (think Zendesk, rebuilt for the privacy-sensitive needs of a dating app)- A story-based matching feature where users connect through shared fantasies — match on desire, not looks.Both projects will stretch your backend muscles and offer plenty of room to improve architecture, performance, and team processes.
**Day-to-Day Responsibilities**:- Implement backend features in Ruby on Rails for both web and mobile- Design performant APIs and services that scale- Collaborate with frontend (Vue/React) and mobile freelancers- Refactor legacy logic and improve performance on high-traffic code- Drive technical decisions as you grow into deeper ownership**Requirements**:- 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails- Strong database skills (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB)- Solid frontend awareness (React/Vue, HTML/CSS) — you'll interface with it, not own it- Collaborative mindset — you'll work with a distributed team across LATAM and Europe- Familiarity with mobile (Swift/Kotlin) ecosystems is a plus- Self-sufficient, communicative, and product-aware**Nice-to-Have**:- Hotwire, WebRTC, AI/LLM interest- Experience with moderation tools, chat/messaging features, or user privacy systems**Benefits**:- Fully remote, async culture — work autonomously with no micromanagement- Join a senior team with real product vision- Trip to Paris after 8 months to meet the team ✈️- Impact features seen by millions of users
