Shift Area Manager, Last Mile Operations

Amazon is seeking a Station Manager with the chance to be based in Puebla, MX. Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers.

Responsibilities

- Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements for sort operation, manage a team group to meet all building’s goals.
- Support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and Delivery service providers.
- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
- Support daily operations: receive, scan, lift and move shipments up to 25 kg.
- Route shipments within the AMZL coverage area.
- Support and assign job duties to process assistants.
- Track & monitor sorting operation and driver’s dispatch.
- Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily.
- Ability to work in construction /distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, not air‑conditioned.
- Lead change at high speed, ensuring safety standards, quality control, and process improvements while handling administrative duties and resolving operational challenges.

Supervisory Responsibilities

- Lead a team of Process Assistants and Delivery Service Providers in daily management of the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating with DSPs, including management representatives and their drivers.
- Ensure a safe workplace and proper training,



addressing employee needs so they can focus on their jobs.
- Adapt to sudden changes and growth according to operational necessities.

A day in the life

The manager is responsible for maintaining safety standards, quality control, and process improvements while handling administrative duties and resolving operational challenges. They must excel in both people management—including coaching, development, and conflict resolution—and operational management, such as load planning and route optimization. Success in this role demands strong leadership abilities, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the capacity to make quick decisions in a fast‑paced environment, all while ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining Amazon's high delivery standards.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Work a versátil schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
- Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
