The i PAL Counselor plays a key role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development, especially for those within the i PAL Academy. They work with students ensuring that each child’s social‑emotional well‑being is supported alongside academic growth. The i PAL Counselor implements Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Annual Support Plans with a focus on social and emotional goals, collaborates with parents and teachers, and contributes to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
The i PAL Counselor may also serve as an i PAL Mentor, acting as the primary point of contact for families. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide one‑on‑one and small group counselling to support students’ social and emotional well‑being. Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution sessions. Implement strategies outlined in the social‑emotional elements of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Support students with self‑regulation, coping skills, and confidence building. Conduct observations of students to assess social‑emotional progress and needs. As i PAL Mentor, provide weekly email updates to parents on student progress. Organise and lead monthly IEP review meetings with parents and relevant staff. THE ADECUADO CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
Strong knowledge of child development, counselling, and inclusive education. Ability to support students with diverse needs, including SEN and gifted learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues. High levels of empathy, patience, and a student‑centred approach. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external specialists. SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT
