A leading international energy company is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to lead the planning, engineering, execution support and post-well evaluation of complex deepwater drilling projects in Mexico. The role covers the full well lifecycle, from concept and design through operational execution and closeout, with a strong emphasis on safety, operational excellence and cost optimization.
What You'll Do
Develop detailed drilling and well construction programs.
Design casing programs, well trajectories and directional drilling plans.
Prepare drilling budgets, AFEs and cost estimates.
Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, DWOP and technical workshops.
Lead technical evaluations during tendering and support contract management.
Support offshore drilling operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
Monitor drilling performance, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare End of Well Reports and capture lessons learned for future campaigns.
What We're Looking For
Engineering degree.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer.
Proven experience in Deepwater drilling operations.
Strong knowledge of well planning, drilling engineering and operational execution.
Experience with Landmark software (OpenWells, WellPlan, WellCat or similar).
Experience using SAP is desirable.
Knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), fractured carbonates or pre-salt environments is an advantage.
Advanced English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
