PR Account Coordinator – U.S. Media Relations
We are seeking an experienced PR Account Coordinator to support U.S.-based public relations and media relations campaigns.
This is not a general administrative or entry-level virtual assistant role. We are looking for someone who already understands PR workflows, U.S. media relations, journalist research, and the expectations of U.S.-based clients.
The adecuado candidate has prior professional experience working in public relations, communications, media relations, or a PR agency environment and can contribute with minimal training on fundamental PR concepts.

Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Advanced to native-level English proficiency, both written and spoken
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in public relations, media relations, communications, or a PR agency environment
- Previous experience supporting U.S.-based clients
- Demonstrated experience working with U.S. media, journalists, publications, or PR campaigns
- Strong understanding of U.S. news cycles, media relations, and journalist targeting
- Experience conducting media and journalist research
- Experience building and maintaining targeted media lists
- Strong professional writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Candidates should already understand core PR terminology and workflows and should not require extensive training on the fundamentals of public relations.
Role Overview
The PR Account Coordinator supports public relations and media relations initiatives across assigned client accounts through research, media monitoring, opportunity identification, tracking,
and campaign coordination.
You will be embedded with a specific team and group of clients and will develop a detailed understanding of each client's industry, competitors, media landscape, and communications objectives.
While some administrative coordination is involved, the primary value of this position is your ability to conduct high-quality research, understand the U.S. media environment, identify relevant opportunities, and consistently execute PR workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedia Research & Media Relations Support
- Conduct ongoing research into client industries, competitors, market developments, and relevant news trends
- Identify journalists, reporters, editors, publications, podcasts, and other media opportunities relevant to assigned clients
- Build, maintain, clean, and refine targeted media lists
- Research individual journalists to understand their beats, interests, recent coverage, and relevance to specific client stories
- Monitor U.S. news cycles and identify timely media opportunities, emerging trends, and potential risks
- Track editorial calendars and upcoming media opportunities
- Support account teams with media research, pitch preparation, and outreach strategy
- Assist with identifying angles that may be relevant to journalists and target publications
- Monitor competitor media coverage and PR activity
Thought Leadership, Awards & Speaking Opportunities
- Research relevant industry awards, conferences, panels, podcasts, and speaking opportunities
- Maintain organized award and speaking opportunity trackers for assigned clients
- Evaluate opportunities based on client objectives, audience, credibility, and relevance
- Track application and submission deadlines
- Monitor competitor participation in awards, conferences, and thought leadership opportunities
- Assist with drafting and preparing award, conference, and speaking submissions when required
- Proactively identify new opportunities rather than relying solely on assigned research tasks
Media Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor daily media coverage for assigned clients and relevant industries
- Identify and flag important client, competitor, and industry coverage
- Maintain accurate media coverage trackers
- Compile weekly and monthly coverage reports
- Assist with organizing campaign results and media performance information
- Ensure media monitoring and reporting information is accurate and delivered on time
Client & Account Team Support
- Support preparation for client calls and internal account meetings
- Update agendas, trackers, and action items
- Document and follow up on assigned deliverables
- Maintain organized shared files, research documents, and account resources
- Coordinate deadlines across multiple client accounts
- Communicate clearly and professionally with U.S.-based team members and clients
- Proactively communicate when deadlines, deliverables, or potential issues require attention
