Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job Description:Primary areas of focus will be on electric motors, valves (check, control, ball, regulator, solenoid), pump/motor assemblies, fan assemblies, heat exchangers, and engine handling lift equipment.
Daily work tasks include the following, as applicable:Define part/assembly design, drawing creation (source control, retrofit kit) and dimensional review with proper part numbering and taxonomyCollaboration with suppliers to define replacement part or assemblyInterface and collaborate with hydromechanical system design engineers and compliance engineeringValidate safe working load requirements as necessaryValidate hazardous area certification requirementsDefine kits as required to bridge form/fit/function differences including installation instructions and creation of bills of material and routingPart/assembly modeling as requiredManage certification tables in ERP systems and evaluate part certification requirements/status codingManage technical questions from the fieldINFO code analysis and supporting documentation as requiredPart end-of-life identification and documentationDefine component/assembly change documentationThe successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of turbomachinery products including engine, package systems, controls, and gas compressors.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
As well as 2-3 years of relevant design engineering experience in a related field.Experience with gas turbines package hydro-mechanical systems is required.Experience using Creo, PLM (Windchill item setup and Change Management), and ERP systems – Baan 5C and LN required.Experience in designing engine handling equipment is required.A strong understanding of national and international codes and standards related to product certification such as NEC, CSA, ATEX and PED, etc. is prefered.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.Posting Dates:July 23, **** - August 7, ****Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
